Wilbert Brewton

Affiliations: St. Charles Area Woodcarvers

Interests:Realistic Carving

Carving Background: Carved and taught carving for many years. Carved in the wood carving shop at Silver Dollar City

Thoughts: Most carving can be done with patience and a number 11 gouge.

Some Examples of Wilbert's Work

Banjo Teacher
The banjo teacher was carved from a single piece of basswood.

Lady in Chair
Wilbert Brewton's "Lady in Chair" was created by this process: first he made a clay model, coated it with glue to harden it for the duplicator, creating a rough out, and then made the final carving.
