Welcome new members and re-joining current members

Karen Conner and Henry Conner joined the club in August.  Karen started carving thru the classes offered at the Art Center and continued with a class in Branson taught by Michele Carville.  Henry, Karen father, has been carving for several years and recently moved back to the area.  Henry has taken several classes from Stu Martin and enjoys carving in the round.  Please welcome them to the club.

Doane 2005

What an experience!  A week of carving with recognized instructors.

John Bouchillon carved this Bob-O-Link in Steve Schumacher's class.

Dale Sapp with Buck Reinecker, teacher of the basket weaving class.

Baskets by Don Kley in Buck's class. Carvings by Carol Buttig from St. Louis

Lana Bouchillon made these baskets in Buck's class. Carvings by Art LaTurno of St. Louis. Charles Sapp carved this old world Santa in Michele Carville's class. Mini flying mallard with habitat carved by Dee Kley in Pat Moore's class.

Dee did eat.  But toward the end of the week, she also worked on her flying mallard at the dinner table. Basket cases, I mean, basket weavers Don Kley, Lana Bouchillon, and Dale Sapp in Buck's class. Larry Keller and his wife Jean with Don and Dee.  The only time I saw Larry was at the cafeteria.  But I hear he did a great job on a Bob-O-Link also.  Jean did Ukrainian wooden eggs with Debbie Perry and quilting. Len Dillon taught a challenging class with a rough out of a walking lion.

Pauline and Kai from Belleville were in Michele's class on old world Santas. George Schuey with his relief carving done in Fred Stenman's class. What is Doane?  Priceless.

NAME TAG:  Making a name tag and wearing it at the meetings has been a club rule for years.  And a new enforcer is in town!  Watch out for this man.  His name is Russ Sears and if you don't have your name tag on at the meeting, he'll be collecting twenty five cents from you.  New member, Donna Garrison, finished her new name tag.
