Club News:

The club meets twice a month - the first and third Wednesdays at 7pm!

Be sure to check out the July-August edition of Chip Chats magazine. Thanks to Charles Sapp there are two excellent articles about our club in the magazine. On page 60 you'll find, "Something fishy going on here..."and on page 98 you'll find, "Youngsters carve soap in Missouri."

The website Whittled Whimseys also recognized our club for teaching youngsters to carve soap at the Arts Happening event in St. Peters. The website is Whittled Whimseys.

Some of our members have been active in shows that were reported in the Chip Chats magazine. On page 31, you will see that Bill Kuhn, Jack Combs and Jim Liefield were all winners at the Sangamon Valley Carvers' 17th Show in Springfield, Illinois in September 2007.

John Bouchillon's Santa candle is pictured on page 22, with other entries at the Chip-O-Tex Club show in Harlingen, Texas on February 8-9, 2008.

At the September 3, 2008 meeting member, John Bouchillon, gave a painting demonstration using boiled linseed oil and acrylics. Corky Breece showed a Moose Antler that he carved, unfortunately, no picture is available for the newsletter.
