Show and Tell: back to table of contents

The first four picture are bottle stoppers Dick Weber has been making as gifts for some of his wine drinking friends.

Dick Weber carved the Cotton Wood Bark house in a Rick Jensen seminar in Twinfalls Idaho. He said it was an interesting carving and fun once you get the hang of it.

After reading an article in Wood Carving Illustrated Dick Weber carved these 5 minute wizards. He noted that they actually took about 10 minutes to carve and another 10 minutes to paint. They work well as little give aways.

Bob Berg carved this Candlelighter at the Rendevous in Branson in an Ed Zinger class.

The cane was carved by Bob at the rendevous in a Harold Enlow class. The Happy Holiday Santa was also carved by Bob in an Ed Zinger class. The small Santa head is an original carving by Bob.

Bob Berg carved the German accordian player and the Cowboy doctor and Santa from blanks, the Forest Santa was carved in Bob Bierman's class.

Ray Plodzien carved the gnome from a blank from Jon Nelson, he carved the Forest Santa in Bob Bierman's class.

Corky Breece carved Deadeye and the Chief from a catalpa log which Syl Bax rough shaped for him. The hair and bands are colored lightly with acrylics. The carving was finished with linseed oil and a spray finish and waxed. It is an original carving, also shown is his version of the Forest Santa from Bob Bierman's class.

Bill Kuhn carved the ducks which won a ribbon at a recent show, the moose was carved and burned by Tom Mortellaro into a wooden box which he carries his tools in, Mary & John McGinley showed this beautiful gouge chipped tool rack.

Glenda Tabor showed the pierced moose relief carving and the pelican which she carved while in Texas. The pelican feathers are woodburned.

Syl Bax demonstrated his diverse carving skills with the flower and tomahawk he showed.

Paul Medlin carved the anchor and showed his Christmas Horse carved in the Bill Kuhn class. He colored his Christmas Horse with markers.

Last but not least in this round of show n tells is John Bouchillion's Santa carvings.

Bill Kuhn gave members of the club a reason to try to make all the meetings by surprising the club with a seminar at the June 21st meeting. He brought in blanks he had band-sawed of a Christmas Horse. Club members attending that night had a great time carving the project and Bill walked around giving instructions.

Once Bill gave some basic instruction, everyone went to work on their carvings. Bill is shown below giving instruction to Syl Bax. Martha Byron is looking over her Christmas Horse.
