Club News: back to table of contents

At club meetings be sure to place your Show and Tell carvings on the table in the front of the room. Bill Kuhn will show them and ask the carver to tell the group about their carving. Afterward, that will give the other members an opportunity to go up and look over the carvings. Next to the show and tell table are carving patterns provided by Bill Kuhn that you may pick up. He tries to introduce new patterns once a month. Be sure to check them out. If you have a pattern you would like to share bring it in.

We plan to continue member led carving projects during meetings. If you are interested in leading a class please bring it up in the club meeting so we can plan for it. If there is a project you would like someone to lead please bring that up also.

Paula Noble, Publicity Officer for the British Wood Association provided a copy of the cover of their latest magazine which includes a reference to our club on the front. See the picture below.

Show and Tell: back to table of contents

The following are show-n-tell pictures of carvings presented by members in June. The pictures are mainly from the Seasoned Eye Carvers meetings on Mondays since our meeting place at Weldon Springs has been unavailable. Bob Berg invited carvers to hold a meeting in his basement and several members did show and had a good time

The first carving below is Wyatt Sample's hobo shown at the meeting in Bob's basement. The next pictures are of Bob Berg and some of the attendees at the makeshift club meeting.

Below is a Blue Note pin carved by Paul Medlin and a Rooster that Paul burned in the Jen Kreyling class. John Bouchillon showed a Burl turning.

Walter Schmierbach showed his face with leaves and grapes, he also showed a relief carving. Charlie Sapp showed a Beaded Plate which he turned.

Don and Dee Kley showed several of their works. They had an eagle theme with three eagle heads and a burned eagle. Perhaps it was a patriotic theme because along with the eagles is an Uncle Sam.

Shari Marshall, Paul Medlin's daughter also showed some art. She showed a carved sun and moon, and a wood burning of a dog and an outhouse.
